I bought these needing scalpels for my kids science projects - dissecting, microscope samples, etc. These are perfect for one use fine cuts. I also set aside a few for my emergency medical supplies. To try them out, I used one to cut up a 15 pound pork shank for sausage - it was so easy, and I was able to control the blade for next-to-the-bone cutting. It lasted through the whole process, down to cubing the meat for the grinder. I really can't say better things about these. If you need to make razor fine cuts these are perfect. I also have saved the used ones, painting the handles red so thesy don't get mixed with sterile ones by accident, as fine scrapers for other projects. I'm really happy with them. And at this price, tossing one out when it's finally done is not a problem, as it's cheap enough to replace.

These blades are very sharp as they should be, since I tested one out on some paper and also did very light pressure to see if it could make a cut and it gave me a little slice, which tells me if i have to use it to help get something dug in deep, it will be quick, easy, and less painful. Also a nice thing about these is they are all wrapped individually, now i can't tell if they are sterile or not since there nothing saying if they are or aren't, atleast from what i've seen so far.
